About Us

Incorporated in 2011, Mississippi Health Safe Net (MHSN) is a HRSA funded Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN), with the goal of assisting all community health centers in Mississippi to become patient-centered medical homes, achieving Meaningful Use and acting as the centralized health information technology resource for Mississippi’s Federally Qualified Health Centers. MHSN ensures data security and privacy of patient and Participating Health Centers (PHC) confidential and protected information, while implementing data-sharing strategies with its PHCs and the Community Health Center Association of Mississippi (CHCAMS).  MSHSN is managed via a Management Services Agreement with CHCAMS.

 Beginning FY2019, in partnership with HRSA, the project has three required goals:

  •  Enhance the patient and provider experience (i.e., patient engagement and access to health information, provider burnout);

  • Advance interoperability; (i.e., data protection, integration, and exchange); and

  • Use data to enhance value (i.e., data analytics, social risk factor tracking and intervention, emerging issues).

  • Board of Directors

The MHSN governing Board, made up of all PHCs, is actively engaged in, and supportive of the continued growth and development of MHSN, and shares a vision for the integration/collaboration with other health centers in the state to move the Mississippi health indicators in a positive direction.
